Transferring a domain name from one company to another usually involves the use of a unique transfer authorization code, which different registrar companies refer to as an EPP authorization code, a domain password or an AuthInfo code. This code can be used as a protection measure against unsolicited transfers with all gTLD and with most ccTLD extensions. The code can be obtained only by the owner of the given domain name and is issued by the present domain name registrar company. It must be given to the new domain registrar company because the transfer procedure cannot be initiated without it. The code is case-sensitive and generally includes digits and special characters, so as to hinder unauthenticated individuals from cracking it. Certain domain name registrars even reset the codes of domain names registered through them after a particular interval of time for better security.
EPP Transfer Protection in Shared Website Hosting
If you’ve got a Linux shared website hosting, you have registered a domain with us and you’d like to transfer it away, you can get its EPP authorization code with no more than a few clicks. When you log into your Hepsia Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domains that you’ve registered with us listed alphabetically. Next to each domain name, you’ll see a small EPP icon for all generic and country-code domain extensions that need an EPP code in order to be transferred between domain name registrars. Clicking on the icon will email the EPP code to the domain name registrant’s email address straight away. In the very same section you can also find and ultimately edit the email, if the one there is no longer valid.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you want to transfer any domain name that’s registered under a semi-dedicated server account away from us, you can obtain its EPP transfer authorization code with a couple of clicks of the mouse from your Hepsia Control Panel. All registered domain names are listed in a separate Control Panel section. Quick-access buttons will allow you to use different functions. To get the transfer code, you only have to click the EPP button, which will be to the right of any domain name whose TLD extension supports transfers with a transfer authorization code. Our system will send the code to the domain registrant’s email, which is currently listed in the domain name’s WHOIS record. If needed, you can modify this email address from the same section of the Control Panel before requesting the EPP transfer authorization code. The update will propagate straight away, so you don’t need to wait for the new email to be published on WHOIS lookup websites.
